On 23-24 February in Poznań, at the headquarters of the lead partner – Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center – the SILHOUETTE project was launched. This was the first occasion for most of the partners to meet. During one and a half days the objectives and schedule were discussed, and the distribution of tasks for the first six months was agreed upon. The pace of the work proved to be faster than anticipated in the agenda, it finished one and a half hours earlier than planned.
Silhouette project kick-off meeting, which was held in Poznań on 23-24 February, gave the opportunity for project partners to discuss the objective of the project defined at the proposal stage. It was agreed that the project will focus on practices identification and sharing, knowledge and tools facilitating wide adoption of ICT-based solutions enabling active, healthy and social lifestyles of the elderly. In particular the project will include:
- Comparison ofthe needs and roles of the elderly in local communities in all Creator regions
- Evaluation of the effect of existing ICT solutions to support needs of seniors
- Trial transfer of selected services and products between regions
- Definition of common recommendations for regional development strategies in relation to the use of ICT for the elderly
Analysed and demonstrated solutions will cover three main areas crucial to the activation of the elderly in the society: health safety, novel communication and out-of-home support.
In addition to the discussion on the project objectives and defining the schedule of the tasks to realise for the first one and a half years, a mini-training of partners in the formal implementation of subprojects of the Creator programme, based on the knowledge acquired by PSNC at a seminar in Säxnas, was also conducted.
