The study visit in the Swedish region of Västerbotten included presentation of the system developed within the Agnes project coordinated by UmeåUniversity, an alarm based on GPS localization and the Check-up Bag solution.
Presentation of the Agnes project began with observing a project session with a group of system end users (seniors). After the session with the users several applications developed within the project were presented. The 2nd solution presented was the alarm system based on the GPS localization. This solution is a service connected with mobile devices – either specially designed or simply mobile phones with embedded GPS modules. It allows to locate persons under family care, especially those suffering with dementia. The Check-up Bag is a product designed in the form a back bag which features a set of devices allowing to perform basic health status examination. The bag is especially useful in sparsely populated areas.
